Privacy Policy
Last updated: July 2026
LearnOMeter is operated by Viswam InfoTech, Tiruchirappalli, Tamil Nadu, India ("we", "us"). This policy explains what data we collect through learn-o-meter.com and its subdomains, why we collect it, and the choices you have. We handle personal data in line with India's Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023 (DPDP Act).
1. Who our users are
LearnOMeter is a B2B platform. Schools sign up as institutions; teachers, administrators and students receive accounts created or authorised by their school. For students who are minors, the school and parent/guardian act as the consenting authority as required under the DPDP Act.
2. Data we collect
- Account data — name, role (student/teacher/admin), class, school name, email or phone number where provided.
- Academic data — test attempts, answers, scores, progress, badges and AI-generated evaluation reports.
- Usage data — pages visited, features used, device and browser type, for improving the product.
- Communication data — messages you send us on WhatsApp, email or contact forms.
3. How we use data
- To operate the platform: conducting tests, generating results, reports and progress analytics.
- To generate AI-powered evaluations of student performance. Question responses may be processed by third-party AI services to produce these reports; we do not sell this data.
- To support schools with onboarding, troubleshooting and billing.
- To improve features and fix problems.
4. What we do not do
- We do not sell personal data to anyone.
- We do not show third-party advertising inside the platform.
- We do not use student data for purposes unrelated to education.
5. Data sharing
Data is visible to the student's own school (teachers and administrators) as part of normal platform use. We share limited data with service providers strictly needed to run the platform — hosting, messaging (e.g., WhatsApp/SMS notifications) and AI processing — under appropriate safeguards. We may disclose data if required by Indian law.
6. Data retention
Academic records are retained while the school's account is active so students keep their progress history. When a school ends its subscription and requests deletion, we delete or anonymise its data within 90 days, except where law requires longer retention.
7. Security
We use HTTPS encryption, hashed passwords, role-based access and regular backups. No system is 100% secure, but we take reasonable technical and organisational measures appropriate to the sensitivity of student data.
8. Your rights
Under the DPDP Act, you (or the parent/guardian of a minor, through the school) may request access to, correction of, or deletion of personal data. Write to us using the contact below; we respond within a reasonable time.
9. Cookies
We use essential cookies for login sessions. We do not use advertising cookies.
10. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy as the product evolves. The "Last updated" date above reflects the latest version; material changes will be notified to schools.
